Manuela is a nationally certified and state licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, having completed her master’s degree at the University of Miami. She enjoys the business aspect of healthcare and direct, individualized patient care, which led her to also obtain a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Administration from Florida International University. She is especially interested in diversity issues in dermatology and improving options for patients with skin of color.

Manuela originally joined Sunset Dermatology as a Medical Assistant in 2012 and since then, has completed her advanced education and become an integral part of our distinguished team of specialists. She is proficient in diagnosing and treating general dermatological disorders in patients including, but not limited to, the treatment of acne, psoriasis, rosacea, warts, atopic dermatitis, and vitiligo. Manuela also provides other comprehensive services, such as CoolSculpting for the treatment of stubborn fat; laser procedures for dermatological and cosmetic complaints; and non-invasive collagen stimulating procedures, such as radiofrequency and microneedling.

Manuela believes the key to building relationships with her patients is through strong communication. She is compassionate to individual concerns and encourages patients to ask questions, know their medical needs, and understand treatment plans. She continues to broaden her knowledge base and expertise through the completion of her continuing medical education, and by staying current with the latest technologies.

Manuela was born and raised in New York City but has called Miami home since 2004. When she’s not working, she enjoys educating others about natural hair care, health and fitness. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and son.
