Patient Guidelines

• After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance very similar to a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatment. After 3 days, most visible erythema will be absolved. Treated areas may peel briefly. Avoid picking or peeling the skin.

• You may resume wearing make-up 24 hours after treatment. We recommend using light, breathable, mineral based make-up applied with a brush. Avoid using sponges or rubbing make-up on the face.

• Do not exercise 24 hours after treatment.

• You MUST avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 7-10 days post-procedure. Your skin is more susceptible to sunburn following this procedure, which can cause hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin).

• A broad-spectrum sunscreen, with SPF 30 or higher, should be used at all times. If circumstances should arise where sun exposure cannot be avoided, it is important to reapply sunscreen often and wear a broad-rimmed hat.

• You may resume retinoid and acid products 7 days following treatment.
