Post Treatment Instructions

Ice the area several times a day for 20-minute on/off intervals for 48 hours. This will help to decrease the likelihood of extended bruising and inflammation and will increase comfort. Make sure you use a barrier, like a thin piece of cloth, towel, or paper towel between your skin and the ice to avoid burning the area.

Wash the treatment area 3-4 times a day with a gentle cleanser. Avoid using washcloths or scrubs. Pat the area dry and do not rub.

For 5 days post treatment, apply a thin layer of Vaniply oinmtnent several times a day so that the treated area is always hydrated. If your skin feels dry, reapply the ointment.

Change your pillowcase daily or place a clean towel over your pillow each night to provide a clean surface.

Avoid rigorous exercise for 72 hours after your treatment.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks following your treatment. If you are going outside, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30+. If possible, physically cover the area when exposed to any sun.

Swelling and bruising may last 5-7 days after your treatment. Sleep with your head elevated for the first 5 days after your treatment.
